Another exciting, insightful Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) conference has run from the 29th Nov - 3rd Dec including a full three days of Keynotes, Panel and Continuing Education Sessions and Exhibition exhibiting products to protect worker health. The theme of the conference was "Evolution, Insights, Into Impacts," focusing on the future of occupational hygiene, with the role of AI thoroughly explored.
In the area of controlling respiratory exposures there was a fantastic CES session held on Saturday for 4hrs on "Underground Mining, Health, Hygiene and Medical Management" presented by #AndyMcCarthy and #Anthony Bamford which included a section on the control of dust and gases in cabs by #JohnPadgham, ensuring operators are protected.
On Tuesday afternoon, #MarkSolomons presented on AS/NZS ISO 23875:2023. Cabin Performance – Practical Field Testing Beyond the Smoke Bomb, a session well received by attendees and great discussion on the Standard followed.
These conferences provide a great opportunity for the Southern Hemisphere Health Professionals to gather, share, learn and improve the lives of all workers across all our industries.
Onto 2026 and looking forward to seeing everyone at Brisbane for #AIOH26
